Non Profit is a Business

corruptionUnless you live under a rock, you know that there are corrupt governments and organizations that have taken advantage of the poor and ignorant. They called it the dark ages and even today, we still have corrupt ass leaders and organizations that divert money away from honest yet complacent individuals and found ways to make a profit.  Of course, there are lots of good people and organizations who have good intentions and object to any kind of practice that takes advantage of people. The truth of the matter is, the number of people are good are statistically pretty fucking tiny if you look at the numbers.  I want to credit the Tampa Bay Times and Center for Investigative reporting for this update.

Historically, the  church was notorious for using religion as a method for collecting the cash from a whole entire nation.  After science changed magical cures into real ones, we still find that the “non profit as a business” business model is still hidden in the public eye.     So before you start donating a shit load of money, make sure you do your homework.

I’ve read a lot of reports about about these charities that “sound good” but their underlying intent or “scheme” is to make a profit. They benefit with nice “non profit” persona while making a profit. It’s a win-win. There’s a lot of companies that do it for their solicitors, reputation, or for tax write offs. One of the most common types of self-important business practice we see today is what I call the “SU” donations like Walmart donating money to an art gallery.  Slightly Useless donations.  These donations don’t help people with their health problems, improve education, or create jobs.  They create art galleries or events that are targeted towards upper class groups that only a handful people even give a shit about.  In retrospect, they are boring ass movies made for boring ass people, that go straight to youtube or netflix in the same way their crappy plot highlights meaningless events about their insignificant impact on society.

Am I against making a profit? Hell No, I need money to eat, feed my cat, pay the bills, and save up for a future.  I think there’s a difference when you donate to an individual versus donating to a cause that accepts cash into a pool of dirty hands.   I’m against people that do shit like that.  There is a difference of being an asshole and getting rich versus trying to make an honest business and profit.   The .ORGS that receive cash money, don’t pay taxes, and collect additional support from the local government while the poor don’t know where that money is going because they don’t see a penny of it? Fuck that.
